I just purchased Imagitarium Ammonia-Reducing filter media cubes from Petco and there are no instructions for how to use. I have a 5 gallon tank with a submerged Built-in filtration system how many cubes do I use and how do I put them in my filter? Please provide the instructions thank you for your time.
I’m trying to cycle a 10 gal fish tank. I have been adding your biological booster for a month now and nothing is happening. The ammonia is holding steady at .5 ppm and I’m not seeing any nitrites. Is there a way I can test to see if there are actually live bacteria in the booster. I’ve checked everything else I can think of.
Rust colored algae in both of my 10 gallon tanks after switching from gravel to sand substrate. What can I do?
How to disinfect dry aquarium used soil after six months ?....I can replaced before 6 months for aquarium snail(reason)...It's very high quantity...So I take out from planted aquarium
I have recently used medication in my 50 gal freshwater fish tank with one 22 year old comet goldfish in it . the meds cured my fish but must have killed my beneficial Bacteria as now my established tank has been going through another nitrogen cycle. It's been four weeks now the ammonia us back to zero so is nitrite zero BUT my nitrates are now spiked about 80 and the water is cloudy. Did 2 partial water changes over the last 8 days. Will a UV sterilizer help ?? Please advise. Thanks Lina
first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks!
Hi, So i am planning in keeping goldfish in my living room. I read that the tank need to be cycled 1-2 months before the fishes arrive. To introduce good bacteria in it. But I don’t want to wait that long, can i just put beneficial bacteria product sold in stores, will it be the same? Or is it best to just cycle the tank for 2 months first? I want my goldfish to live a ling live. Thanks
My pond goldfish had swim bladder issues so has been inside for 6 weeks. He was pretty active and I brought in another to keep him company. Since Feb 1st, he is at the bottom, eating a bit especially when I drop it right in from of him. No external signs of any disease that I can seen. Nitrites are high as tank is cycling. I am adding Prime, aquarium salt (1 gram) and 30% water changes. Nitrite converting bacteria is establishing now. Any thought on what it could be and what to do? Thank you
My 5gal goldfish tank (for a 4 in goldfish) is currently at a really low pH (6.0-6.4). What is the ideal range for goldfish, what is the best way to alter the pH and how gradually does the change need to be.
We are new to having aquariums, we really didn't realize so many things played a factor with the water. We currently have a 10 gallon tank but want to increase to a 29 gallon tank. We currently buy gallons of water but with the 29 gallon tank we really don't want to have to do that. We have well water with a salt filter. My levels from to tap was nitrate 10, nitrite 0, hardness 0, chlorine 0, alk 100, ph 7.. is my tap water safe even with the salt filter.
can i have a cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon tank with my blackmoor goldfish? or should i have at least a 10 gal? or no shrimp at all?
Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
