My cat loves this food. I buy Applaws in the pouches, because these recipes don’t contain rice (canned Applaws is overwhelmingly filled with white rice; despite Applaws’ claims that it’s 1-2% rice, it’s usually closer to 80% rice filler, making for a very expensive and inedible feline food). So my point is this: if you buy Applaws, choose the rice-free pouches. The pouches aren’t designed for the user, but to stand up pretty on store shelves for marketability. They don’t tear open without ripping the pouch and making a mess, so you need scissors. The folds at the bottom of the pouch make it hard to access all of the food, and Applaws isn’t something you can afford to waste as it’s very expensive. I’m fortunate to be able to afford this for my cat since he loves it so. I hope Applaws lays off the cheap rice filler in its canned products so we can have more variety. I also hope Applaws improves its pouch packaging as all the other pet food makers have done.
