Exceptional. I never expected it to work as well as it did. Can water be too soft? Buy it. You won't regret it!

I was told that this would help soften my water in my fish tank within 24-48 hours. I honestly forgot for a few days and when the water was tested again it had gone from hard/very hard to soft/very soft. Definitely does it's job efficiently! Used in an internal filter in a 30 gallon tank.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Worked extremely well on large tank

We only purchased one pillow to test on our 75 gallon tank. Mind I have extremely hard well water, full of iron and calcium, etc. and within 48 hours the gh had dropped significantly. From 300+ down to around 75-80. Using one pillow on a 75 gallon tank. Which is surprising considering 1 pillow is designed for upto 20 gallons.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I put this in my small (7.5 gallon) tank and within 12 hours my hardness issue was resolved. There was not negative effect on any of my other measurements. It exceeded my expectations.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I am trying to lower the hardness in my saltwater tank and can’t find any products to do so. Would this be okay to use or can someone recommend something else?

Can table salt be used to recharge it?

If the tank is larger than 20 gallons, can you use two at once? I cannot find any other size of these

      1. Yes, you may use multiple pillows depending on the volume of water is in the aquarium.

How do I recharge the pillow

      1. Soak it in salt water. I use aquarium salt.

Does this work like water softener resin; specifically, does this resin exchange Na+ ions for Ca and Mg ions? If so, would a large amount of Na+ ions be harmful toSouth American catfishes (i.e., Corydoras, Rephael cats, Banjo cats, Bristlenose plecos...)?

      1. I used it in my tanks that have Corydoras and other South America Amazon species with no ill effects observed. They have to be recharged with salt or they stop working.  Na+ ions are not the same as NaCl. Ca and Mg ions are similar in not affecting pH in the working of these pillow resins. It is the compounds that form from the ions with other elements that affect water hardness. There are many books and articles on the efficacy and safety of these resins used to reduce water hardness and total solids as it effects fish health.

I have a 5.5g tank and it comes with a 10g HOB filter. I'm confused on how to use this product. Do I leave this in my HOB filter for 2 days (48 hours) and then remove it? or do I leave it in my filter the whole time?

Can this be used at the same time an antibiotic is being used?

Can this be used with a sponge filter and does this effect snails (nerite) and shrimp? I am getting my 10 gallon betta tank ready for some shrimp. Buying more plants and some driftwood. Can shrimp stand the pillow, can it be used with a sponge filter?

          1. Yes, this can be used with a sponge filter along with snails and shrimp.

Is this product safe to use in an aquaponics system or a planted aquarium?

          1. Yes, you may use this in a planted aquarium.

how long it comes. when it to be changed

          1. Once every 5 days, to recharge the pouch.
