Worked for me

I used this about 4 weeks into a new pond when experiencing an algae bloom. It took about two weeks to clear the water when used as directed. I was happy with the results. I used the accu clear at the end of the two weeks when it still looked a little cloudy and those together made my water nice and clear.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm not sure where all these great reviews are coming from, but I put this in my pond 24 hours ago and it looks no different. I have a new 1400gl pond that is about 8 weeks old. The water was crystal clear for the first 7 weeks and than got very murky within two days. I only have two shubunkins about eight inches long I put in to help cycle the system. I also have great circulation and filtration using the Savio skimmer and waterfall with a 5500GPH pump.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Can you use this in a fish tank

  1. If the product can be dosed accurately for the volume of water, you may use it for an aquarium.

My dogs drink out of my pond, will this hurt them?

  1. Yes, it is safe for wildlife and domestic animals if they are dosed accurately.

Does this product clear black pond water?

Would this work for an indoor aquarium with two turtles, fish and some plant life? Or is it really only for outdoor ponds?

I introduced plants to my pond and the stone wasn’t all the way rinsed and the water is now cloudy/muddy.  Will this stuff help clear it up?

      1. We would recommend to use API Pond Accu-clear. Accu-clear is a type of flocculant that will help bind to the cloudy water and pull it out via through your filter.

      Is it safe for dogs?

      1. Hi Cam14, This is safe for fish and plants as well as the surrounding wildlife and other pets when used as directed. Thanks

Can I use Algefix and Barley Straw Extract together to improve water clarity?

      1. Thank you for your question. The barley is a natural and so using these products together would not be a concern.

Is Simple Clear safe for pond turtles?

      1. Thank you for your question. This product is safe for fish and pond plants, as well as surrounding wildlife (including pond turtles) and pets when used as directed.

Can I use Algae Fix and a bacteria based clarifier together?

      1. I use both bacteria and pond clarifier at the same time. Always works great. Bacteria obviously builds becteria in the pond and clairfier causes small particles of suspended dirt to clump together to make bigger particles that the filter can catch. These two things do different jobs.

      Is Simply Clear pet safe

      1. The label says its not for human consumption or for fish used for human consumption. I can tell you my cat drinks out of our pond all of the time and has no ill effects from it. I only use 6 oz for a 800-900 gallon pond so I'm sure its so diluted it probably doesn't cause a problem.
