[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this stuff, instead of having to pull out all the ph stuff I added this when I changed the filters and added water for my fishie. Appearance is clear and gives great clarity to the water very clear. The is 10ml per 10 gallons so the bottle last for a while. It's very quiet to pour and I believe the durability is long-lasting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] API Quick Start is a reliable and convenient solution for anyone setting up a new aquarium or maintaining water quality. This product contains live nitrifying bacteria that help quickly establish the biological filter, reducing harmful ammonia and nitrite levels. It works fast, allowing you to safety introduce fish without waiting through a long cycling process. The liquid is easy to use, with clear dosing instructions that make it beginner-friendly. I noticed improved water stability within a short time, and my fish seemed less stressed. It is a great choice for both new tank setups and routine maintenance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I was a little leery to trying this product because of the mixture of views, but once I did my homework, I realized that all it was going to do was take the harsh chemicals out of water. I waited until it was time to completely change the water in my fish tank to use this product and it worked out great. The levels are good and the fish are happy. Great product

Questions

1 - 10 of 17 Questions

How many drops per gallon when doing a water change for a 10-gallon tank?

  1. It is 20 drops of API QuickStart for every gallon of water.

When should I put fish into my aquarium after putting API quick start?

How many times do you add this to your tank just once or like once every few days?

    1. We would recommend to add when performing maintenance to the aquarium or when it is becoming established. It will not be harmful if used more frequently (1-2 times a week).

Can I use this for a betta fish?

    1. Yes, I have used this product with a betta fish.

Is Quick Start the same as Stress Zyme? How are they different? Are they safe to use in Bettas tanks? Can I use with Stress Coat Plus? Are API products compatible with other brands or must I use them with API products only?

    1. Quick Start is not same as Stress Zyme. Different usage and benifits. Can be use in betta tanks with right dosage. Both best to use with Stress Coat. Not familiar on API products' compatibility with other brand products.

I can use for add new fish in my aquarium with my other old fish..? And only i need add at the water with my fish in the water, 10ml for 10galons say the bottle its ok

I just started a 20 gallon tank. I already have fish in it. I bought a mini 1OZ bottle of this to try. On my next water change is this safe to add while fish are in it?

      1. Yes, it is safe. Just follow recommended dosage. I use it each time I do water change and my fish is doing fine.

If you put to much in a tank will it kill the fish?

I recently set my tank back up & now the aquarium water has been cloudy for about 3-4 weeks

        1. Do you have sand substrate? If so you might not have rinsed it enough and might need a water clarifier so that your filter can take it out. It could also be bacterial bloom which is the beginning phase of the nitrogen cycle in new tanks

I accidently used quick start in my aquarium that expired in may 2019. The lid was always kept on the bottle and it was kept in a dark area at room temperature. Was it efficient in my tank or do I need to add more?

        1. You would need to buy a new bottle, since all the beneficial bacteria included in the liquid would be die when it expires.
