Fluval Aquarium Water Care
Trying to treat betta for Popeye otherwise healthy happy and active. Moved from five to three gallon filtered heated tanks. Feed freeze dried blood worms, daphnia and bug bites by fluval. Also am changing some if not all water every few days. Treated with kanaplex several doses no real improvement. Switzed to metroplex in water treatment as I don't know how food treatment works or how to dose started four doses two days apart and there is some improvement to the eyes. Med is miconidazole.
I have a pond in with my water dragon with a activated carbon filter. Is it safe for him to drink? I also used a water conditioner from petco. He is very lethargic and not eating.
My flowerhorn tanks water has exptremely high nitrate level . I returned from vacation yesterday to find a cloudy tank and high levels nitrate . I did a 50% water change and added prime . He now is gasping for air or at least that’s what it looks like and nitrates are still in the red . I was told to add aquarium salts and wait it out . I’m scared I’ll loose him . What should I do quarantine
So since the last time I asked he started to show signs of fin rot and this morning I saw one thin white filament attached to his left fin. Doesn't appear to be attached to his body anywhere else but his one fin. He is in a 1 gal tank and I put a fungal treatment in his bowl. Was this the right way to go or should I simply keep with salt and pristine water
My goldfish have been acting very strange and fins have been changing colors, they are swimming frantically around the 20 gallon tank and crashing into the glass as well as jumping out of the tank in general. Their tail fins have been developing a red vane work in then and is developing what looks like fin rot... I’ve done water changed twice in the last week and half but they haven’t improved at all. I have added a stress coat solution to try and calm them a bit but I’m at a loss...
Is hydrogen peroxide safe to use on aquarium fish
Are these steps good for this fish's wound and finrot? Part of the fish fin fell off but it is okay now. We're planning to quarantine him and use aquarium salt. Is there any last minutes subs for the salt? Tomorrow is Christmas so the stores will be closed, and we need to help him asap. so.. Are these steps good and are there any last minute subs?
My pond goldfish had swim bladder issues so has been inside for 6 weeks. He was pretty active and I brought in another to keep him company. Since Feb 1st, he is at the bottom, eating a bit especially when I drop it right in from of him. No external signs of any disease that I can seen. Nitrites are high as tank is cycling. I am adding Prime, aquarium salt (1 gram) and 30% water changes. Nitrite converting bacteria is establishing now. Any thought on what it could be and what to do? Thank you
I have recently used medication in my 50 gal freshwater fish tank with one 22 year old comet goldfish in it . the meds cured my fish but must have killed my beneficial Bacteria as now my established tank has been going through another nitrogen cycle. It's been four weeks now the ammonia us back to zero so is nitrite zero BUT my nitrates are now spiked about 80 and the water is cloudy. Did 2 partial water changes over the last 8 days. Will a UV sterilizer help ?? Please advise. Thanks Lina

Which disinfectant would be best to treat an open fish wound?
My goldfish has blood in his find. I searched what it could be and found a website that took me it was ammonia poisoning or something and I just needed to clean his tank. He's 8-9 years old and I got him from Mejier. I came home from school today to find him floating on his side. He let's me reach in and grab him and I noticed that his entire back side from his anal fin to tail was losing scales. He is in a 20 gallon tank with another goldfish, 2 plecos, and an albino shark. He has a filter+air
