Questions
Can I use this product with light plants?
This says for "freshwater" can it not be used in a saltwater tank? Is there a different product specifically for a saltwater tank? Thank you
Can I put this in while fish are in the tank?
- Yes. I have added it right to my 28 gallon tank by the filter, but usually I put it in the water I’m adding to the tank before I dump it in. I was told aquarium salt could work well for even a fresh water tank for ph, I’m trying that because my ph is always a bit high even with ph down.

Can this be used at the same time as medication? I was going to use the Tetra brand lifeguard remedy to treat what looks like fin rot on my rescue betta, but the water PH in his new tank also needs to be lowered.
- First, check your ammonia level. If the new tank has had fish for a few days you probably have an ammonia spike too. Tap water also usually has a higher pH. Before dosing the tank, change 50% of the water. Lower the pH of your new water too desired level. Add it back to tank. Then dose for for the fin rot. Keep repeating this procedure for each dosing till pH comes down and hopefully rot goes away. A tablespoon of kosher salt/10gal and just clean water go along way for fin rot sometimes too.

My PH and Ammonia is high, will this help with both or just the PH level?
- this will only change the ph

My PH and Ammonia is high. Will this help with both?
- No, if you lower the pH while the tank has ammonia in it, the NH4+ ion will be pushed out of solution and become more toxic as NH3 (ammonia). You must change water. Remove, 30-50% of water and replace slowly with lower PH water. There is no other solution. Look up how the biological filtration process works!!!!!
