Questions
Will this product help kill Blue Green Algae (BGA) and is it recommended to increase aeration after use in a planted tank?
is this product safe for nerite, mystery, and rabbit snails?
- According to the label info it is safe for freshwater fish if used as directed, but do not overdose. DO NOT USE ON freshwater crustaceans including shrimp, crabs, or lobsters. I personally have never had any snails in my tanks, but I believe they actually feed on algae while helping to clean it from the tank. It's never a bad idea to do research on water requirements for snails before adding them or chemicals to a tank!

I added less than 1 ml of the Algaefix to my water with a betta and two snails, 24 hours after adding both of my snails were dead. They were perfectly fine until adding this product. Curious to why?
- Directions specifically say NOT to use if you have snails or other crustaceans like shrimp, lobster and I would think crawfish.
