Being on "lockdown" in a Sr. retirement community I can't get out to buy the aquarium supplies like API Accu-Clear that I use and am familiar with. I have two tanks at the end of the bed. The fish are more relaxing to watch than the TV!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I didn't do such a great job at cleaning my gravel so my tank was cloudy. Really murky. I did a water change and it did get somewhat better. I found this product and I put it in. One hour later. It was clearer but still cloudy. I waited until 24 hours and it was still cloudy so i added another dose. Then it was crystal clear!!!!! You can see the little small particles are now trapped together. I'll wipe it out and rinse the filter off. I have a 60 gallon tank.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this based on the reviews but this made my tank even worse! My fish tank look like a scene out of a horror film... like smog at night in a cemetery because it was literally a film of some sort sitting on top of the rocks, and anything else sitting in my tank.) i thought maybe i didn’t clean everything enough when i first bought it and it was chemicals washing off the stuff in the tank, but when i completely cleaned and scrubbed the tank and every thing in it and it was clean, i thought i was good. Been 2 weeks, new fish because 3 died( Betta tank with divider is a killer-1 got stuck in pump, the other in between the divider the 3rd was sick probably because of this ) everything was perfect... until i added this. Now i see the real cause. Hope my 4 yr olds fish doesn’t die because of this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this item in store yesterday for my 10 gallon tank. I have 2 baby goldfish in there until they go into my 40 gal tank, so beings that they are goldfish, tank gets messy quick! Tank got this white fog look to it even after 24 hours after a 50% water change. I checked the ph and ammonia levels, both were perfect so I decided to put some of this stuff in the tank to help out the filter. Tank looks like it was fresh put together today!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have been using Accu-clear for over a year and it has always cleared up my cloudy water. I do a water change first then add the Accu-clear and by the next morning my tanks are sparkling. Note: this isn't a miracle chemical, you have to do water changes and make sure that your tanks filter is also working properly along with doing regular water changes.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

What do I do with all the remaining stuff at the bottom of the tank?

  1. API Accu - Clear ; I it whenever my tank starts to look cloudy.  Cloudiness is caused by fine particles getting through the filter medium.  Accu-clears chemical composition causes these fine particles to clump together so the bio filter can catch them.  If clumping causes contamination to no longer float to the filter the you must vacuum the bottom of your tank or change the water.

Is Accu Clear safe to use with African Dwarf Frogs?

  1. i don't believe so, though i recommend that you consult you're local pet store, and ask, they should have a more specific answer. Also, you might want to try an algae killing chemical like "AlgaeFix" which i am currently using, or a UV sterilizer, they should be safe.

API Accu-Clear

  1. This product can only be used in freshwater aquariums.
