The “copper” on the latches was already chipping when I took it out of the box. Will be returning.

Can this hold 4lb ?

    4 lbs of what? Likely not, because it's not very large. But the reason they state capacity in fluid ounces is that water is always going to be the same density, so the measurement conveys both weight and the amount of space it takes up. For example, 4 lbs of feathers will take up a lot more space than 4 lbs of lead. The measurements are also given in inches. 40 fl oz is 5 cups of water, and since a liquid cup and a dry cup are close enough for this type of measurement, if you're still not able to figure it out, go measure out 5 dry cups of the treats or food you're thinking about using this jar for. Guarantee it won't be 4 lbs worth though.
