My five year old male (neutered) cat was just diagnosed with asthma. We live in coastal Georgia and the pollen and allergens are abundant. He is a porch kitty and therefore lives mostly outside but is safe, dry, warm and comfortable on a porch. The medication prescribed will cost nearly $500/month which is not doable for me. Are there herbal medications I can try before I have to make the extremely difficult decision of ending his severe discomfort forever?
I need antibiotics for cat respiratory infection
Myv2 and 1/2 year old cat has CHM and is having trouble getting oxygen on her blood..ibhave oxygen tanks and I want to build her anboxygem box. How much oxygen should I be pumping into her space and should it closed or punctured?
What can I give my kitten for her upper respitory problem she's having a hard time breathin
Sweetie had asthma attacks some time ago which I mistook for hairballs but I investigated and realized her symptoms matched sthma, I quickly changed her environment and food for possible allergens to see if that would help and it did. But she did have one this month due to someone petting her when they had too much cologne on, I have vet appt soon fo a rescue pump for sound of mind but I do not want her on any steriods due to their effects. If so what steriod inhailer has the least side effects?
Hi- I have a 15 year old cat who is being treated for asthma and chronic bronchitis as well as seasonal allergies. She takes prednisolone every 3 days. I have Zyrtec and another vet prescribed antihistimine that makes her sleepy to use as needed. I also have little noses decongestant to use prn, I have an albuterol inhaler with a a special spacer for attacks I use rarely. Tonight she seems sniffy. Sometimes I think the antihistamines give her a cough. What do you recommend I use?
My cat has FIV and really bad congestion right now (he’s breathing out of his mouth). I found a at home pet nasal spray called HomeoPet and I am wondering if it is safe for my cat. Or if there is any other home remedies I can use to help my cats congestion.
My vet says my elderly cat has asthma. Extensive tests were not done but she was put on Prednisolone at 5 mg per day. I give her half doses as I just buried another old gal that was also taking it for allergies. My folks were on Prednisone when they died so I know the stuff is deadly! Is there anything else I can give my old cat to help here breathe without killing her?? Thanks for any advice! Lisa
My 14 year old cat has congestive heart failure and hyperthyroidism. She has had her chest tapped twice int he last 2 months taking a significant amount of fluid out. 325ml from left lung and 85ml from right the first and slightly less the second time. The color the first time was like strawberry milk and the second time had an almond milky color. She is having trouble breathing again. Is there anything I can do aside from the Lasik and Propranolol?
My dog has collapse traquea and CDF. At time she has respiratory attacks like asthma. At the vet she is put under oxygen and neubulizer treatment. Is injected with meds to open her airways. Have asked my vet the possibility to give her the neubulizer therapy but has never recommended any meds. Is Albuterol a good alternative? Budesonide? Just like to have a home alternative when she gets these atttacks.
Is this OK for my cat, Amelia to wear while she has to be on an antibiotic due to feline acne? Is the cone to big for her?
My cat was prescribed predinsolone liquid and I started her first dose tonight, it was hard to give her this by mouth with syringe and she started foaming at the mouth, not sure if she swallowed the liquid dose is this okay? Are there any tips you can give to make syringing by mouth better?
