Loved it until

I make my own food, but liked these as a little something extra. My dogs think they’re treats. I tried the duck and the beef, both well liked. I decided to try the turkey. All 3 of my toy dogs hated it. If you tried to break them in half, or a dog bit a whole one, they disintegrated into dust. There were literally little piles of dust sitting there. None of them would touch these dust piles. Who would want to eat sawdust textured food? I reached out to Arcana. I just wanted to know if this was maybe how the turkey is. Seemed strange it would be, but you never know. I was not looking for a replacement or coupon or anything, just letting them know I had this issue in case there was a bad batch or something, but the responses I got made me feel like I was trying for something from them. I wasn’t satisfied with the answers. I was never even asked for the numbers of that lot or anything like that. Basically, I was told that’s how it is so deal with it. Me pointing out I had never had this issue previously made no impression. I thought I had finally found something that worked as an added treat with nutritional values, a bonus. I threw it out. They wouldn’t touch it, so what else to do with it? Yes, I could have taken it back to place of purchase, but I thought letting the company making it know what I ran into with it was a positive thing to do. You’d think they’d want to know, but apparently not. I guess I will have to start a new search for a product made by a company that cares about their quality. I certainly care about what my dogs ingest.

Puppies are it right up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My puppies loved this; practically inhaled it! My dogs are extremely picky about what they eat and trying to get them to eat whatever food I do feed them is hard. I cook for them, gourmet food, hard kibble…. Whatever it is, they fight me on eating. However, this topper? It was inhaled. They were going to fight each other for it. Cannot recommend enough!

Excellent food!

happy and thankful

My beautiful little dog has kidney disease. Since last September, a year now, we have seen a specialist and tried at least 20 different dog foods, of course including food for renal disease. She sometimes goes for 2+ days not wishing to eat due to lack of apatite. Out of desperation and hours searching on line for something for her, I found the Acana freeze dried turkey patties. We did have 3 different kinds of special canned food in fridge, + ground turkey, beef, and organic chicken. 3 different kinds of dry kibble from the vets, and organic pumpkin in a can. + + + +. We have tried everything from baby food to cottage cheese per the specialist & nothing helped her. Before, she walked in the kitchen, smelled her dish and walked out. For the last month she has not wanted any breakfast and our hearts were broken watching her get thinner and thinner. Since crumbling up some of a patty on her food, Her whole personality has changed! She is standing on her back feet and walking across the kitchen floor and barking for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We are thrilled that she is so much happier and also happy that this food is so nutritious. Thank you Acana! :)

Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dogs are super picky, so I was not expecting them to like the Acana Freeze Dried Food. Boy, was I surprised when all three of my dogs ended up loving it! I am still in shock that my picky dogs love this food so much. In the nine years, I have had them, I have tried over 30 different dog food brands, and of those, they have only approved of 3 of those. Until now! I am so happy that I can add some more variety to my dogs’ diets. If you have picky dogs, please try this food. You will not be disappointed.
