From having multi past cages over the years, this one had multi issues and was made from cheaper metals. A few bars came bend and playtop ladders had to be bended to fit onto the playtop. The rack on top of the cage before the playtop doesn't even stay in place-don't know who thought that was a good idea. It's too bad, I wish they had them in the store to look at before buying but not the case in multi local stores. I was hoping going thru petco, I wouldn't have these types of issues.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A & E 24 x 22 Playtop parrot cage

A & E cages are the best. This cage had all of the features, that I needed. Play top, three feeder doors, extra breeder door near the top, easy cleaning. The packaging was excellent to prevent damage during shipping. All of the corners were reenforced . The color “platinum” is a light gray. I assembled it myself in about 2. 1/2 hours.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fine Cage for a Panama Amazon Parrot

the A&E Cage 24" x 22" is a very good quality cage and and fairly priced. There are quite a few good features about this cage that beat other similar ones... The powder coated paint is well done as well as the overall design and construction which is solid. The three vs. typically 2 inside stainless steel cups are a plus as well as the built in solid seed guards behind the cups which does reduce the amount of spill outside of the cage. My parrot is a master at throwing food outside of the cage and the external seed guards -- which "float" on the cage are about 3" wide -- don't take up too much extra room, yet they catch the majority of the seed that is tossed outside the cage. The nest box door is an added plus as well as the chromed latching mechanisms for the door and the food cups. A&E Cage Company did a very nice job overall with the design of the cage. And the cage comes very nicely packed in two boxes. Two ideas for improvement... (1) Better assembly instructions: They are one sheet of paper that illustrates the cage assembly and offers a very short (fairly useless) written set of steps. It would help if the various types of screws and nuts were identified and then show which are to be used at which step in the assembly process -- that's typical for this kind of assembly. It was a guessing process - but- the assembly was really not at all difficult (2) Add rails or channels for the upper and lower cage grates. Current design, the top and bottom cage gates sits on top of wire tabs that are a part of the main front/back/sides. This does work, but, channels or rails which are used in other similar cages would be preferred. Overall I would give the cage an "A" grade and would certainly recommend it to another person looking for a nice cage that doesn't cost a fortune.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is this the correct cage for a green cheek conure?

  1. Yes, I have a GCC in this cage. The bar spacing is small enough. It is perhaps a large cage for a GCC but I like it that way. He uses all levels of the cage because I put different toys in different places. He uses the top under supervision as a change of scenery
