My Catalina Macaw is usually pretty "standoffish" when it comes to adding different toys, he usually igrnoes them for quite some time, this time around he dug right in and has been having a great time with it! It is standing up really well to that big beak!

I bought 2. One for my African Grey and the other for my Double Yellow Headed Amazon. These birds typically destroy their toys within a day to a week. The heads provide hours upon hours of entertainment and are holding up very well. Based on this, I will now be ordering another one for my Macaw.

I have to rate this in the top three toys I have ever purchased. For the last 23 years, I have shared my life with three large macaws and one Moluccan Cockatoo. All four love this Monkey head. I use it as a foraging toy for nuts and treats when the foot toys it comes with are gone. My Hyacinth macaw, Blue and Gold macaw and Moluccan sill have their first one, minus the ears, eyes and some hair, but this Monkey Head is my Greenwings favorite and he loves to destroy it. It takes him some time to do so and I just bought him his third. I would highly recommend it.

I HAVE A SHAMROCK MACAW AND HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS TOY. HE HAS NOT DESTROYED IT YET BUT HAS BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR A WEEK NOW. I WOULD DEF BUY THIS AGAIN. GREAT PRODUCT AND DID NOT GO TO WASTE IN 2 DAYS.

Our parrots were initially very wary of the giant head in their space. By the next day, they had plucked his eyes out and begun to remove items from the massive mouth. Be prepared to return all goodies back into the mouth often. The items are varied and there are even a couple of lava-like rocks that are good sized that I found had also sailed to the bottom of the cage, too. A great and sturdy toy (except the eyes).

I would like to purchase this for my Moluccan cockatoo. Any chance he could get his head stuck through the monkey's mouth?

We Have had this toy for over a year and my Moluccan never got his head stuck. Even our Hyacinth macaw has one and we have never had a problem.

Are the Googly Eyes on this toy safe for birds?

Great question. My bird just rips them off the head. They are glued on plastic eyes. I don't think a bird would eat them, but you never know. You could always remove the eyes before you give your bird the toy.
