Is a blood panel recommended when a dog reaches a certain age? I have a 9 year old dog, mixed breed, approx. 40 lbs.
If I wanted to get his liver and kidneys checked do I have to do an entire blood panel?
Hi! Illnesses like diabetes, liver disease, high calcium, cancers would be detected in full panel blood labwork correct? Or are there other special tests ? Thank u
I am taking my cat to the vet for CKD testing. He has a high level for creatinine from the full blood panel. Are there any holistic supplements for kidney health?
My cat Pocky (healthy, 4 yrs old) has had frequent diarrhea all day and yesterday. It dribbles and seems to just fall out of her and then she seems surprised and licks it up. She acts normal but tonight she seems sick, she is lethargic, and her third eyelids are showing. She has brought me 3 mice this week, I'm concerned she might have eaten a poisoned one or got a disease. I am going to call the vet first thing in the morning. Is this an emergency? Any advice or wisdom? Thanks, kati
Our 11 year old male, neutered Frenchie has two swollen lymph nodes(neck). He’s as energetic as usual (which is to say, not very). He’s drinking more water, appetite is normal (good). His blood panel just came back normal. We went ahead with a needle aspiration, just in case. Ideas of what to expect?
My three year old maltipoo is eating more than usual and not gaining weight. He slso has a strange odor. He recently received his annual da2 shot along with a deworming shot. About 4 months ago he was examined and had a full blood panel and all was normal. We feed him My perfect pet along with a limited ingredient dry food.
I need some suggestions on getting my dog to eat. He is refusing all food. Already been to the vet and had blood panel and xrays done. All normal. I've tried different foods, meats (hamburger, chicken) and he still won't eat. I've tried force feeding him to stimulate his appetite and that didn't work. He just refuses to eat and has lost a ton of weight. Myself and 2 different vets are at a loss. Help!
Trixie has IBD issues for about 5 yrs, never confirmed this with a biopsy but selected protein food fixed her issues until recently when her appetite started lacking. Labs shows nothing abnormal except elevated WBC count. My vet sent me to internal med vet for biopsy but she opted to do abdominal ultrasound first which also shows nothing abnormal. The internal medicine vet is running a GI bloodwork panel. What might this tell her? Could it explain the inflammation thats causing elevated WBC?
I have better pictures now but are these bump like things normal? Like could they be the normal ridge-like things on her lips? These are located under her top lip. Doesn’t hurt her & I can “lay” them flat & can be manipulated like the other ridges. They also just feel like her lip. Shes eating & runs around with a hard ball in her mouth with no problems. Had a full blood panel done less than 2 weeks ago & it was great. Urinalysis & T4 too.
Hi. My dog is being drawn for blood/a blood panel test and thyroid checked tomorrow at 9:00am. He is a German Shepherd and eats twice a day -- once in the morning at 6:30am and once in the afternoon at 3:00pm. I think I heard my vet say to fast my dog before getting blood drawn, but I can't remember the time, and by the time I call tomorrow, it could be too late and I messed up the bloodwork. Can someone let me know the standard for this?
