Bella got diarrhea 2 weeks ago, given metronidazole for 7 days. Fecal neg for parasites at lab. Pepper now has diarrhea. Acting normal. We thought Bella had dietary cause but if it was an illness would it take this long for Pepper to show symptoms? Also, if vet decides to treat both with metro, can Bella have it again this soon? She just finished metro Thursday (19th)
Bella had anal gland checked and vet thinks infection as fluid in right gland was a little greenish. She just had expressed on Friday, is it normal for there to be an infection already? Put on metronidazole for 14 days. Question, she was just on metro for 7 days a couple weeks ago for diahrrea... wouldn't this have prevented infection? And is metro good to cure anal gland infection?
My 2 yr old rescue had diarrhea all 4 months he has been with me. He was treated for IBD with metro for 7 days. I also discovered that he is allergic to turkey and fish. I have been feeding him Natural Balance Venison and Green Pea LID wet food. He did well with the metro, and finally had solid and semi solid stools. Natural Balance failed, and added salmon oil to their LID foods! Onyx has greasy fur, flakes and scabs again. Can salmon oil do this? Or am I missing something?
Pepper still has giardia. Initially treated 14 days metro w/7 days panacur mixed in. Sent stool to lab where they detected still shedding cysts. Vet said we can treat again with Panacur. Very diligent about keeping her and the yard clean. Her stool has become more firm for the past few weeks. Could she always have giardia? We have 9yr yorkie who seems fine. Separate bathroom areas and food and water bowls. feeling so defeated that Pepper will never kick this giardia.
My French Bulldog has been having bloody soft stool for over a month. I’ve taken her to see two different vet hospitals for the problem and both had prescribed metronidazole. The metro has not really helped. I’ve tried different foods and don’t really see good results unless I add rice and pumpkin. The blood is bright red and she always has a blood drip once she is finished defecating. I put her on a hydrolyzed chicken liver diet but nothing has really changed. Please help, I am completely lost.

Hi my German Shepherd keeps drooling
I am wondering if a vaccinated adult dog could transmit parvo, even if they don't get it, to a puppy or bring it into my yard. I am getting a puppy in 6 weeks and am wondering if I need to ban all other dogs from my yard before the puppy comes home until after they have had at least their second shot? I would really like to socialize the puppy though and trust this other dog, but I know the dog goes to the dogpark occasionally. Would giving the dog a bath be sufficient?
