I have a 9.5 year old terrier named Kavi who lost an eye to glaucoma. The local vet is now recommending timolol and prednisolone acetate for his good eye as a preventative. He is otherwise happy and healthy. Is this necessary? Thanks.
HI! My dog was diagnosed with Addisons disease almost a year ago. She is now on 2.5 mg Predisone and 0.1 mg fludrocortisone twice a day. Since taking the medication she has gained an excessive amount of weight and her stomach is huge. My family says she should probably stop the medication but i don't want her to get sick off of it. Is there any other kind of treatment?
My 12 lb, almost 3 year old, shih-tzu dog chewed on a tube of Benadryl cream with the 2 active ingredients being diphenhydramine hydrochloride 2% (topical analgesic) and zinc acetate 0.1% (skin protectant). He got into it 2-3 hours ago and hasn’t been acting abnormally. He’s had a lot of water to drink. Is there anything I should do/is he okay?
My cavalier weighing 9 kg has CHF. She is on 2.5mg vetmedin twice a day, 20mg furomicide twice a day & Spironolactone 25mg once a day. This evening I gave her Spironolactone 50mg by accident. This was with her usual vetmedin 2.5mg, 20mg furomicide & 2.5mg furtokor. Will she be Ok?
My dog is on lasix for fluid around his heart. Is there any electrolyte replacement beverage formulated specifically for dogs? I am not interested in the i.v. bags.
My do was prescribed Lasix and I was if I could desolve it in a little water to give her it is a 1/2 of a tablet.
My dog has dcm and furosemide is not working anymore us there anything else I can give her
My dog was diagnosed with CHF. His abdomen is still swollen. Lasix 40mg BID was reduced to 20 BID due to slight increase in labs for kidneys. His coughing is worse with the lowered dose. Should I ask the vet to change meds? He’s also on Pimobendan compounded 5mg BID.
The vet gave my cat flunco-200 each day for 5 days. Is it overdose?
dexadreson - i would like to understand if this medicine is safe for a cat with grade 3 heart murmur / heart condition. It was given as an injection as a precaution to a cut so it wouldn't get infected. Is there a risk due to the heart condition? Thank you
Dog has started furosemide tablets for fluid build up, has not been eating properly since which is very out of character for him (eating a 1/4 of his usual food amount which he usually eats all of). Concerned due some of the side effects of furosemide
My dog has heart failure, currently on pimobendan, frusemide and spironolactone. Recently she had cough and then sudden weakness with high shriek thrice already and I'm thinking of bringing her to vet soon. Most likely she will be started on enalapril. Will that harm her kidney? Cos her BUN was already high from her last blood test. Will enalapril cause Dry cough like what it does to humans?
