So I was told to give my hyperthyroidism and early stage kidney failure cat 1/4 tab of famotidine I gave my cat 1/4 of 20mg tab of famotidine I hope that’s ok and also gave it to her half hour after her methimazole medication I read online that I should have given her 1/4 tab of 10 mg famotidine not the 20 mg also heard I should have waited two hours after meds and food :( I’m leaving for a day and a half out of town and I’m stressing thinking I did something awful! Please help!!! Thank you!
Is it normal for a dog to breathe sort of slow and evenly while on Cerenia, Famotidine, and Sucralfate? She’s been lethargic and non-energetic since we gave her the first dose of Cerenia last night, and i’ve been in contact w my vet. They prescribed the famotidine bc she was having some side effects. She seems to be In a deep sleep right now, but will wake up when I interact w her. I just want to know if she’s okay
My cat is 10years old, he was given famotidine 1/4 tablets but getting him to take the pills are a battle. Can I dilute the tablet in water than give him it orally?
My 2 year old cat has been intermittently vomiting for last 6 weeks. Vets did tests and gave famotidine but she is still vomiting. Now they say it's her food even though she's had a meeting thing site a kitten
Is it safe to give my cat famotidine for a chronic vomiting issue? I have tried everything. She has a clean bill of health otherwise. Our vet cannot figure it out and I have thought that her symptoms seem like acid reflux.
My vet recommended that my cat take famotidine. I thought he said to give her 10mg, but now I’m reading that she should only have 2.5-5mg. Since I have her 10mg, do I need to worry about her having serious side effects or being poisoned by it?
I took my dog to the vet last night for vomiting and they gave him an injection of Cerenia and Famotidine. When getting the injection he screamed so loud that he could be heard in the waiting room. The tech said that sometimes those injections can burn. Is that true? He's been hiding under the bed since we got home
My dog is on Famotidine, Sucralfate and Metronidazole to help treat bloody poop he had from Rimadyl. He developed diarrhea this morning after being on the new set of medicine for 36 hours. Is this a side effect of the new medicine and is there anything that can be done to help? He is eating the chicken and rice meals just fine and drinking water normally.
My 4 year old neutered miniature schnauzer recently had a severe bout with pancreatitis. This was his first time. He was treated with fluids for 3 days and sent home Tuesday afternoon with metronidazole, cerenia and famotidine. He has been drinking, eating homemade food in very small amounts, and his stool is firming up. No vomiting. He is still acting lethargic/tired/weak. Should this be expected after such a bout? Should we still be concerned with a potential blockage?
8 year old 22lb mini schnauzer w allergies. Had an early stage2 mast cell tumor at age3. Recurred at age 6 in the same location. I opted for tumor removal/no chemotherapy. He takes diphenhydramine&famotidine. Difficulty controlling skin infections from allergies this year.Skin cleared last month. He was taking antibiotics, caddy shot, apoquel, Ultimino diet. Clear skin only lasted 1mo. Back to vet again tomorrow. I only want to try one med at a time so I know what's helping. Recommendations? Thx!
Hi, our nearly 13 yo cat got diagnosed with pancreatitis earlier this year. He was doing well on veraflox for 5 weeks. He's been for 3 ultrasounds so far and his condition appears to be improving though the pancreatic duct was dilated and remains so. Today he stopped eating again so he's going back on famotidine and veraflox and he's scheduled for followup in early April. Do such cases usually resolve? How long should we expect he'll need antibiotics? Would be nice to get him over it for good.
Hello! Per an old vet, I am giving my cat 1/4 a 10mg tab of famotidine daily. Unfortunately, it seems as though it runs out before the 24 hrs and around 3-4 in the morning, she is getting reflux (not all days, but some). Is it possible to give her 1/4 tab in the AM and then again in the PM, to ensure we do not have the gaps? I know I have to take my acid reducer twice a day, but I wanted to ask, and they are 2 hours away. Thank you!
