Is venison or bison more palatable in dog food?
I have a 6 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback 45 lb puppy . Can I give him a raw but smoked bison knuckle bone to chew attended? He is a power+ chewer.
My 6 lb yorkie ate 5 mg Benazepril that was intended for my bison who is 25 pounds. Will that hurt her?
How many calories a day does Charlie need? He’s currently at 15 pounds and we are giving him Taste of the Wild (bison and venison)
Just ordered Taste of the wild Grain Free Roasted Venison Bison dry puppy food, and was wondering if it's good for my 7 month old German Shorthaired Pointer puppy and if it will bother my babies stomach.
Is it ok to switch flavors of treats routinely? Like every month, when the bag runs out? Or should she be on the same flavor of treats as well? Why or why not? for example right now she's on a duck food. I have duck treats, bison treats, salmon treats and boar treats. Is this ok to give her?
I am worried my dog (1 year old lab / hound mix, 60 lbs) swallowed a bison bone. It was a ~1.5" diameter bone with rounded bitten edges by the time he got it off the rope, and I haven't been able to find it. If he ate it, will he be able to pass it? I am worried about blockage and I don't know if the edges (similar chewed bone attached in photo) could cause internal damage. Thank you!
My dog has eaten almost every protein source I can think of. I didn't think to save an exotic protein in case she devolved a food allergy. She's doing fine now but how would you proceed with this? The brand I'm feeding offers seven different types of protein sources, is it ok to use more than one of those choices? If so how many? (Bison/lamb), (lamb/chicken/turkey/menhaden), (chicken), (salmon/menhaden), (boar/pork), (duck/turkey),(chicken/egg/menhaden)
I currently have my pup on taste of the wild puppy food. He has been eating the roasted bison and venison flavor. It seems like he has always had a slight itch and is always scratching. I recently switched up the flavor to salmon and he is scratching a lot more and has red spot all over him. I know this is most likely a sign that he could be allergic to his food. Are there any recommendation on how to treat this or what foods would be better?
My boxer constantly acts like she is starving. I feed her great food, Canidae Bison and give her the suggested amount for her ideal weight. I split the feedings in to two servings, one in the morning and the other at night. After eating she will sit in front of me and cry for more. Sometimes I give in and give her an extra cup. She looks healthy and I know she isn’t starving but not sure how to satisfy her.
Ghost has inflammatory bowel disease (the vet thinks) with chronic vomiting. Starting last August, 3 to 4 times a week and has slowly gone down to once every few weeks. She needs rare protein so she's on Canidae grain free bison and takes metroclopramide half every pm and a pepcid pm since November. She recently started a new bag of the same food and started vomiting several times a day for the past week. Vet thinks use metro in the pm and switch to prilosec in the am. Does this sound right?
Is it ok that my dog has seven different flavors of food over the course of 21 months or would you do four flavors over the course of 12 months. I like the concept of a rotational diet. She's on duck right now. There is also; bison, lamb, chicken, salmon, boar, and chicken and egg. I wanted to try them all of that was ok. I would stick to one flavor for 3 months (2 bags) unless you think it's ok to rotate every 6 weeks (1 bag) I would be sticking to the same brand which is Canidae Pure.
