The alkalinity should be tested in all aquariums regularly. If the alkalinity in the aquarium is too low, the pH value can sink (sudden drop in acidity) to a level which is life-threatening for many fish and invertebrates. In reef aquariums, an adequate alkalinity is essential for strong coral growth. On the other hand, an overly high alkalinity in saltwater tanks can lead to lime precipitates and also have a negative impact on coral growth.

Dip the syringe into the liquid before drawing up the syringe. Shake the bottles before use! Rinse out the glass cuvette with tap water and then several times with aquarium water. Fill the glass cuvette with exactly 5 ml of aquarium water using the dosing syringe. Then add 3 drops of reagent A and swirl the cuvette carefully. The water sample will turn turquoise. Place the enclosed dropper tip on the small syringe and draw out 1 ml reagent B. Add reagent B from the syringe to the water sample drop by drop until the water changes color from turquoise to dark-blue then to a clear pink color. Swirl the cuvette after each new drop. The measurement is complete when the sample has reached a clear pink color without any blue tinge. The consumption of reagent B (difference of 1 ml) multiplied by 10 constitutes the alkalinity in degreedH. Rinse out the glass cuvette, the syringe and the dropper tip thoroughly with tap water after the measurement process.
Keep away from heat, hot surfaced and open flames since product has flammable liquid.

Hello i have a fish tank 45l with 11 fishes in it (Shubunkin , opaline gourami , honey gourami , trichogaster etc) . i added the fish a week ago and tested the water and it was fine.today i see that 2 of my Scalars aren't eating like everyone else , so i tested the water . Everything was fine except for Nitrite levels that was 3.0 - 5.0 ppm. I changed 25 % of the water and added Easy Life Filter Medium and after some hours i tested again the water quality and it was the same I also added salt
I accidentally bought ich x for saltwater. I’m wondering if I can use it in my freshwater tank?
We are new to having aquariums, we really didn't realize so many things played a factor with the water. We currently have a 10 gallon tank but want to increase to a 29 gallon tank. We currently buy gallons of water but with the 29 gallon tank we really don't want to have to do that. We have well water with a salt filter. My levels from to tap was nitrate 10, nitrite 0, hardness 0, chlorine 0, alk 100, ph 7.. is my tap water safe even with the salt filter.
I keep axolotl and am having a continuous fungus problem, my water tests are great. I can provide the parameters if I actually speak with someone. It’s been a period of a few months and the fungus keeps coming back. This is just one of them 3 out of 4 have gotten it.
Hi, I have a 48 litre tank with 6 platies and two red spotted snails, I also had a black corydora catfish he was fine lastnight but was dead at the bottom of the tank this morning, now one of my snails hasn’t come out or moved in 4 days I have tried the tests online to see if he is dead but I am still unsure if he is just sick or shy, is there anything you would recommend, thanks.(I have removed him into his own tank just in case.)
My goldfish has popeye and I have been treating it with Kanaplex. I have given my fish 3 doses of kanaplex and I don’t see him getting any better. The container said to add only up to 3 doses. Can I add more doses of kanaplex to continue treating my goldfish?
