My dog went missing for 24 hrs. We live in the coutry with creeks and woods. Anyway... With in 12 hrs we noticed red raw looking skin under his nose. Could it be from trying to find his way home?
I have a cat that went missing since march 15 tuxedo cat 2 years old had him since he was 4 weeks and 1 day old. Normally he doesn't run away from and when I call him he comes to me this time he got out and hasn't came back can u help me please?

We have adopted our daughter's dog. She is a small breed mix. She has had at least one traumatic experience in which she was taken and dropped off on a rural road. There were storms during the three days it took to find her. She is very scared during stormy weather. Our problem with her is sometimes when left alone for several hours or a day, she will scratch at the door as if trying to dig her way out. She has destroyed the carpet near the door and the brand new linoleum we put in place.
Dear Dr, Holly has been missing since yesterday afternoon. She escaped outdoors from the garage and she hasn't come back yet. My dad's dog, tuffy, is grieving as he realizes my dad isn't coming home. My dad passed on a little over a week ago and when we got tuffy home he went from room to room looking for him. He seemed fine the first few days but now is shaking and won't get up and move about. He won't eat and refuses treats. What do you do about a grieving dog? How to get them to eat and drink?
My dog is acting odd. Instead of going outside, doing her business and coming right back to the door, she walks off into the wood and just lays. Not far into the woods, she can see our house, but will lay in the woods for hours unless we go and get her. Then she is happy to see us and comes back with little coaxing.

Hi there, Our little beagle Jasper went missing for 4 days in the woods. So happy we found him yesterdday! We noticed on him, since he was sniffing so much his lip is now red/burnt from being on the ground so much and his neck got the fur taken off from his collar rubbing so much. We're just wondering if this is something he would need a special ointment to help it heal properly or maybe putting polysporin or coconut oil on it instead if he doesn't need a special ointment?
