This is my birds favorite toy. He gets really acrobatic with it and gets plenty of exercise. It is so rugged that it is in perfect shape even though he has at it, every day with wild abandon. I fill it with wholegrain and seed crackers, broken into rough pieces. He loves the way this thing makes noise and sometimes hangs from it upside down. Hands down best purchase of bird toy for our African Grey Parrot!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Inexpensive Foraging Toy

Rosie, my African Grey, really enjoyed foraging her treats from the sphere and she likes to attack the bell on the bottom too.

Yes, I recommend this product.

About as good as most foraging toys out there.

I wanted a good foraging toy that was not quite as expensive as many of the other ones out there. I am glad I made this purchase! I put some millet in there, which is relatively easy for my pionus parrot to disassemble while also being too large to simply fall out. The bell on it is great (most bells on bird toys are cheap and easily breakable but not this one!); in fact, my pionus parrot seems to play with it more because of the bell than because of the food - she is a bit of a weirdo, haha! I am just glad she can have so much fun banging it around. The reason why I give it four stars instead of five is because (1) taking apart the toy and putting food in it is a challenge, and (2) the toy itself is much smaller than I expected. I would probably not recommend this toy for a larger parrot.

Yes, I recommend this product.

A little difficult to put treats inside, and treats have a tendency to fall out of the holes if they are too small. Good for fruits and veggies!

Yes, I recommend this product.

The holes in this are too big. All the treats fall out. Not a fan.

I use this for my two Quaker parrots they seem to really like it but it is a bit to simple for such mechanical birds but it is still great quality and a simple way to serve extra treats.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Would this be a good size for a budgie to use?

  1. Sure, small and medium birds will enjoy working their food treats from this fun and challenging feeder and my electus enjoys her millet sprays from this ball for hours.

How do you unscrew the part that enables you to open the globe to insert treats? ugggh it's soooooo tight! Can't wait to use it though & my Quaker quickly lost fear of it!

Would this toy be appropriate for an Umberella Cockatoo?

    1. Hi Cocky mom, Yes, this can be a great toy for an Umberella Cockatoo. Thanks

can the ball part be removed?

    1. Thank you for your question. The balls should be able to be removed. It should be able to be used without the balls. Otherwise, we do offer just the kabob.

What size parrot is this toy appropriate for?

    1. Our bird is an African Grey. Probably not good for a very large parrot. The food had to be large enough not to fall out too quickly. For instance a pea or corn kernel would fall out.

What kind and size of treats are best used with this and what does the bird need to do to remove items placed inside?

    1. almonds are small, but I still put them in with other treats and wads of paper..I use banana chips and pieces of broccoli florets and cauliflower, carrots.. stuff like that
